The Black Arts is excited to be working for a unique charitable organisation “Only A Pavement Away”
The Company has produced a short film, shot largely at HMP Isis in South East London, that shows how the Institution is training inmates for a future in the hospitality Industry. A restaurant, “The Quays” has been opened by “Million Pound Menu” and “First Date” host Fred Sirieix who also features in the programme.
“Only A Pavement Away” is a unique Campaign that creates a solid link between employers in the UK hospitality industry and those charities and associations whose main aim is to support the homeless, ex-offenders and ex-service personnel reintegrating them back into society.
In essence it provides stable jobs to those who really need them at a difficult and often critical time of their life… in industries that really need to employ them.
A win/win based on mutual advantage and respect. Not something that is too common in tackling the increasing problem of homelessness.
