A Pioneering Spirit.

The 10th anniversary 2017 Pioneer awards are to be held at Manchester Central on Thursday September 14th

Guests at the “2016 Pioneer Awards from Co-op and CRTG” entered a spectacular winter landscape via an ice tunnel and through a live snow fall. They were faced by a 15 metre ice bar while sculptors working with chain saws to created stunning ice artworks.

They then entered the main auditorium where the two and a half hour multi media show took place. The 15 awards recognised Pioneers across the entire range of food producers and reflected the unique position the Co-op has in the communities it serves.

The show included a tribute to the Pioneers of Music, Fashion and Comedy and a live performance from the Kaiser Chiefs.

Pre Show

The 15 metre Ice Bar and Ice Sculptures were produced by “Glacial Arts”of Liverpool with the Ice Tunnel and Snow Effects by world experts “Snow Business” The magnificent ice decorations and chandelier were created by “Spring Bank” and the furniture provided by “Fresh”.

The cocktails were created by area sponsors Diageo.

Auditorium

The theatre and dining area seated almost 1.200 guests from across the UK food and drink industry. The show opened with a ten minute spectacluar to the Pioneers of Music and included  live rendition of ‘She loves you’ by The Fab Beatles as well as tributes to Jimi Hendrix, Bowie, Michael Jacskon, The Who and The Spice Girls. There were 15 Awards from the Show Host, Anita Rani. Entertainment was provided by the Kaiser Chiefs whilst a Fashion Show and dancers were choreographed by “Red Ice”.

Michael Jackson moonwalk was performed by Navi, the only person that Michael Jackson personally endorsed.

The Beatles hit ‘She loves you’ was performed by The Fab Beatles.

Lead singer of the Kaiser Chiefs, Ricky Wilson performed seven of the bands’ greatest hits.

The show opened with a 10 minute spectacular tribute to The Pioneers of Music.

Post Show Party

Guests then returned to the Ice Bar or went to the after show party with the worlds biggest Mirror Ball, a Saturday Night Fever lit dance floor with music from Disco Classic Band “Odyssey” and DJ Spoony.
